Splendid 17th century Italian painting. Oil on canvas artwork of remarkable pictorial quality attributable to the Lombard painter Giuseppe Nuvolone (1619-1703), lacking authentication. Son of the painter Panfilo, he trained with his older brother, Carlo Francesco Nuvolone. At the centre of the composition we find a beautiful young woman who lovingly cares for three children. It is the most classic allegorical interpretation of charity, the third of the three theological virtues after faith and hope. It is worth highlighting the executive quality in every single detail, from the splendid landscape with ruins in the background to the precious details of the clothes. Painting of considerable size, suitable for a large reception room. 20th century frame in carved and painted wood, beautifully decorated, with some signs of aging. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and repainting of the colour in small spots. Artwork overall in excellent state of conservation. Internal measures H 141 x W 175 cm.
